St James’ Church is now sponsoring Albino Joao, a boy aged 10 who lives in Pheone in Mozambique on the south east coast of Africa. The child the church previously sponsored has now reached age 18, having had his life and that of his family and community transformed through the church’s sponsorship.
Albino lives with his parents and goes to primary school where his favourite subject is Maths. At home Albino helps out by gathering firewood. When he does have free time he loves playing football.
Where he lives is a poor country ravaged by civil war. Floods and droughts have contributed to food shortages and over a third of people live on less than 60 pence a day.
By sponsoring Albino, through the World Vision organisation, we hope we can help him enjoy his childhood, to be loved, protected and cared for and to have good health and education.
