As many of you will have seen BT Openreach have been busy in recent months and weeks upgrading infrastructure. As of this week you are now able to order fibre to the premises (also know as FTTP or Full Fibre) from your broadband supplier. More information is available on what speeds and providers are available from the link below, or by contacting your existing supplier.

https:/just/www.openreach.com/fibre-checker/my-products just enter your postcode and select your address. Please note that some addresses are still awaiting infrastructure to be upgraded, there is an option to register your interest and get updates when full fibre is available.

Orders for upgrading from ADSL to Full Fibre are taking approximately 2 weeks to install dates.

You will notice many providers are removing landlines from their packages (e.g.Plusnet) others such as BT/EE/Vodafone are offering the option to keep a landline, however full fibre landlines do not support certain personal alarms / Telecare devices, more information can be found at https://www.ageuk.org.uk/information-advice/money-legal/consumer-issues/changes-to-landline-telephones/
