Yesterday our local MP Sir Gavin Williamson popped into Bednall’s Place of Welcome to announce the winners of this year’s Scarecrow competition. Sir Gavin and a group of work experience youngsters walked the village to see all our scarecrows. He gave a speech on how judging scarecrow competitions is close in difficulty and responsibility as best in class of the local dog shows.

Overall best in class was Lady Gardener by Elaine. “Made me smile” was Toni’s postie. “Your village” was Henry’s farmer. Also commended by the work experience youngsters, little Bo Peep, the Soldier and Zeus.

Sir Gavin thanked all that had taken part in this years competition.
