Sponsored Bicycle Ride, Walk or Drive Saturday 20th September 2022

“Ride and Stride” is the annual fundraising event of Historic Churches Trusts all over England and takes place this year on Saturday September 10th. Both the churches at Acton Trussell and Bednall will be taking part that day and are looking for keen cyclists and walkers (you can also do it by car), and church welcomers and of course people to provide sponsorship for the participants.

The idea is to cycle, walk or drive to a number of churches and raise funds by being sponsored by family and friends – the aim is to visit as many as possible of the churches taking part between 10am and 6pm and to enjoy the day!

If possible Church welcomers will be at the churches to provide drinks and sign off visiting cyclists/walkers/drivers forms. The welcomers can be sponsored as well as the cyclists/walkers. If there are no welcomers a list will be left in the church porch.

Half the money raised by each participant is returned to their home church. The money is used to make grants to churches for repairs and essential maintenance and our own churches have benefited in the past from such grants.
